Some time ago I shared how excited I was to get my husband on board for remodeling our kitchen (you can catch up with the post here). In short, I had one single urge: More. Counter. Space.
The project was small, but a few obstacles still came along, and it took muuuuch longer than I had thought.
That was a huge bummer! I couldn't have 120 cm of counter space higher than the sink and dishwasher! I was really disappointed and couldn't see how to proceed without having to change all the lowers cabinets. But then, my clever hubby meant he could saw the existing cabinets which were 140 cm tall!
At that moment I went through different emotions: skepticism, hopefulness and more skepticism... I know that my husband is very accurate when he is doing something, so I decided to trust him (I crossed my fingers tightly though!).
Then, we reinforced the cabinets and put back the oven and doors.
I had already bought white grout before I read all the pros and cons for white vs grey grout on subway tiles... So we kept the white and we love it!
The backsplash has a bit of interest and structure thanks to the beveled shape but it gives the eye a rest, as the wall gallery from the living-room is just next to it!
We are thrilled every day by how these small changes made a huge improvement in our kitchen. We have more space to cook (we can cook as a team, yeah!) and the kitchen has a more open and fresh feel.
